Our Purpose

One of the things that can happen after a bereavement is that visits you made together to a regular haunt now feel uncomfortable and lonely.  It was one thing to pop into a café for ‘elevenses’ or ‘afternoon tea’ whilst out shopping but now being surrounded by all the noise and chatter only underscores the loneliness.  No longer can you pass remarks about the latest supersized cruise liner in the harbour as you look out the windows of the John Lewis restaurant, say, and, or as you look out the window of Next, Hedge End, noticing that the traffic is absolutely solid all the way round the M25 roundabout, suggest it might be an idea to have another drink together.

We are just a group of friends who enjoy the opportunity to meet up for a drink and a chat about anything or nothing really.

You may want to come along on an occasional basis which is fine.

It also gives you a reason to just get out of the house for a while.  Sometimes the 4 walls become a cage, and we find ourselves simply prowling backwards and forwards like a bored meerkat.

Our purpose is to provide a listening ear and not to offer any form of therapy or counselling.  We want to make that very clear.  We hope that in due course we may be able to provide links to counselling services, but we would not be able to offer a recommendation of who best to contact.
